Henery Phillip McCoy was born in Dunfee, Illinois, in the United States, to Norton and Edna McCoy. His father, Norton McCoy, was emplyed at a local nuclear power plant before McCoy's birth and was once exposed to intese nuclear radiation, which appears to have caused his son's mutation. Hank was born with vast intellect, unusally long arms and legs, and unusually large hands and feet for a human. Proportionally he was comparable to a gorilla to which lent to his nickname of Mgilla Gorilla while attending the Xavier School. During his adolesent years, he grew increased strength and agilty which helped him excel in sports of his later school career, this drew the attention of Professor Charles Xavier, eventually leading to Hank's enrollment into the Institute. When he left the X-Men in his twenties, he took a job as a scientist for the Brand Corportation, a genetic research facility. During his time there he formulations and isolates a hormonal extract, sinthsising it into a serum that allows humans to be mutants for a short amount of time. During the expermentation on himself, he inadvertly triggers a secondary mutation in his own genetic code, leaving him with blue fur and more feral like featurs. Not long after his transformation, Hank joins the Avengers and remains a member for many years perodically joining the X-Men. Later within his political endeavours, he places himself in the United States Cabnet as the Mutant Affairs Secretary. He remains there today as well as the administrative liasion to the Xaiver School for Gifted Youngsters.
